Online Chandigarh Volvo tickets from Sept 17

GURGAON: Come September 17 and city residents would be able to book tickets online for Volvo buses plying to Chandigarh. The fare between Gurgaon and Chandigarh is Rs 475 a trip, but commuters booking online have to shell out Rs 25 extra as reservation charges.
The Haryana transport department has announced a 50 % reservation in luxury buses for those making advance booking through the website.
The bookings can be done 15 days in advance till six hours before the scheduled departure of the bus service. Yashendra Singh, general manager, Haryana roadways, Gurgaon, said, "The transport department has already started the trial version for the service. From Friday, it will be made available for public use."
The decision has received a thumbs-up from the city residents. "I do not mind paying extra money for this service. It is a good decision taken by the department," said a resident.
