GURGAON: Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday lashed out at the Delhi government, saying it is delaying the work on the Delhi-Gurgaon-SNB and Delhi-Sonipat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) routes.
He said the Delhi-Gurgaon-SNB corridor should start from Aerocity, so that work on the
Haryana stretch can begin soon. The CM on Friday met Union urban and housing minister Hardeep Singh Puri at Nirman Bhawan in New Delhi and held detailed discussions on various key issues in the state. He also held discussions regarding starting work on both RRTS projects from Sarai Kale Khan to Panipat, and Sarai Kale Khan to Shahzadpur.
The Supreme Court has also reprimanded the Delhi government for creating hurdles in these projects and the next hearing has been fixed on July 24, the CM said.
“The state government has given a suggestion that if Delhi does not agree, then the line from Sarai Kale Khan to Shahzadpur should be started from Aerocity so that the portion in Haryana becomes operational. Similarly, a discussion was also held regarding Rs 3,000 crore which Delhi has to give for the Panipat line,” Khattar said. The detailed project report of the Delhi-SNB RRTS corridor is awaiting approval from the Centre. Pre-construction activities such as geotechnical investigation and pile load tests have been completed from IDPL to Dharuhera.
The RRTS alignment runs on the median of Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road from Kapashera border to Atul Kataria Chowk. Then the alignment shifts to the left, from Atul Kataria Chowk before taking a right along the boundary wall of Huda Nursery, Sector 14 park to Signature Chowk, and passing through the green belt from there to Rajiv Chowk along NH-8.
The Delhi-Gurgaon-SNB corridor will converge with other RRTS corridors at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and will be interoperable, facilitating commuters’ movement from one corridor to another without the hassle of changing trains.
The DPR of the Delhi-SNB RRTS corridor was approved by the state government of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan, and the alignment of the same has already been approved by the state governments in December 2019. Khattar said that soon the Haryana government will soon provide about one lakh houses to eligible families in the state. He also said that he apprised the Union minister about the housing project targets that have been achieved by Haryana.
