GURGAON: The chief minister's office has sought a response from the
MCG for failing to clear 234 out of 299 complaints received through the CM Window so far.
According to a report prepared by the chief minister's office, of the 299 complaints received for MCG on the portal between December 26, 2014, and August 25 this year, the civic body has resolved only 65 complaints, with more than 78% complaints remaining still pending.
The CM Window, which was launched with much fanfare, had promised to resolve public complaints within 10 days. However, according to the report (a copy is with TOI), 59 of the 65 complaints that were resolved were not disposed of within the stipulated time.
The complaints made to the CM Window include removal of encroachments, illegal mobile towers and guesthouses, water supply issues, slow progress of development works and pending clearances.
Sources in the agency said the complaints have remained neglected as officials are currently engaged in resolving other more pressing issues such as those related to development projects and ensuring environmental guidelines are being followed in the city.
The chief minister's office has now asked the MCG to submit an action taken report for the pending 234 complaints. MCG officials responsible for attending to the complaints have been warned of disciplinary action if the complaints are not redressed in a time-bound manner.
The CM's office has sent a notice to the MCG joint commissioner and officials in the planning, engineering, sanitation and accounts wings. Officials have been ordered to redress the pending grievances at the earliest.
The report further states that there are 24 such grievances where senior officials handed over the job of redressing complaints to junior officials, who are yet to take any action. There are 68 cases where MCG acknowledged the complaint, but did not resolve it within the designated time period.
When TOI contacted MCG commissioner Vikas Gupta, he said, "The officials have been told to attend to the pending grievances at the earliest and I have called a meeting in this regard next week. They officials have been asked to explain reasons why the complaints remain unresolved."
