GURGAON: From Wednesday onwards, 75% online booking reservation will be allowed for the new fleet of Chandigarh-bound Volvo buses, which will start plying from April 3.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda will flag off their services on April 2 at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi.
The online facility has been upgraded so that commuters can reap in maximum benefits; earlier, only 50% online booking was allowed, said Yashendra Singh, general manager (Gurgaon) Haryana Roadways.
As the state has bought 25 new Volvo buses with extra sitting capacity and plans to induct maximum number of buses on Chandigarh route, the facility is being promoted as super luxury bus service. As compared to old Volvo buses which have 35 seats, new ones have 49 seats with added benefit of heating facility.
Officials said the new buses will make as many 16 trips between Delhi and Chandigarh and vice versa in 24 hours. Of them nine trips will be extended to Gurgaon route via IGI airport.
Singh said six buses have already arrived and the remaining would join the fleet before April 2.
After the inauguration, the first bus will run from Chandigarh at 12 am on April. The fare between Chandigarh-Delhi has been fixed at Rs 510, while commuters will have to shell out RS 600 for reaching Gurgaon. One trip between Delhi- Chandigarh will take 4.30 hours to 5 hours, while it will take six hours to reach Gurgaon. Other add-on services will include commuters being provided with free newspapers, mineral water bottles and tissue papers. A 20-minute halt is also scheduled at Karna Lake, Karnal.
As far as online booking in concerned, four tickets of one's choice can be booked at a time, up to 10 days in advance, from Haryana transport website.
