Gurgaon: Three drive-through vaccination sites for people in the 45+ category will be set up over the weekend. On Friday, a site will be operational at Cyber Hub, on Saturday, the facility will be available at Star Mall, Sector 31, and on Sunday, a drive-through session will be organised at Candor Techspace, Sector 48. Both first and second doses would be administered at the sites.Each centre will have 250 slots.
Meanwhile, government centres in Gurgaon have run out of vaccines for people in the 18-44 years age group and as a result of this, residents are booking their slots in private facilities.
On Thursday, 2,732 people in the 18-44 years age group and 2,344 people in the 45+ age group got their jabs in the city. As many as 36 health care workers and 187 frontline workers also got vaccinated.
“Currently, we have limited doses for the 45+ category. We are not holding sessions for the 18-44 age group now,” said Dr Virender Yadav, the chief medical officer, Gurgaon. Officials in the health department said they do not have any information about when the district will receive fresh consignment of vaccines for 18-44 age group.
