He said that 86 village panchayats have submitted suggestions of which only 13 or 14 want the RP2021 scrapped. "That means 103 village panchayats have no opposition to the plan," Puttaraju said.
The facilitation centre will call people for hearings which will involve some members of the state-level committee for the RP2021 as well as members of the village planning committees and village panchayat members. "Only suggestions that are mutually acceptable will be finalized," Puttaraju said.
State-level committee member Rahul Deshpande told TOI that sifting through over-3,000 suggestions is a huge exercise. He said that the suggestions will be first classified into various categories and then dealt with.
Deshpande said, "Earlier we said we want to finish by January 31, but considering that there are over 3,000 suggestions, the time they consume will depend on their magnitude and complexity. If there are genuine errors, we owe it to Goa to correct them."
