ERODE: Senior Congress leader E V K S Elangovan on Wednesday hit out at the BJP for attempting to topple the
DMK government by raking up back-to-back controversies in the state.
“But the people of Tamil Nadu will thwart BJP’s attempts and will not allow the saffron party to disturb the DMK government at any cost,” Elangovan said while speaking to reporters in Erode.
“Chief minister M K Stalin’s statement that BJP is trying to topple the government is 100% true,” he said.
Thanking voters of Erode East for electing him with a margin of 66,000 votes, state ministers and partymen, Elangovan said he will give priority to solving long-pending issues such as dyeing unit effluent processing, drinking water and sewage connections.
On BJP IT-wing leaders joining
AIADMK and a few AIADMK functionaries joining BJP recently, he said both the parties were heading to a major disaster. He later celebrated Women’s Day with the women’s wing and functionaries of the party.
He also wanted the government to take stringent action against those who were spreading rumours without any fear or favour.
