new delhi: a teenager posing as a central bureau of investigation official was arrested by the police from his house in shakarpur on tuesday. the police arrested the boy after receiving a complaint from the principal of bhatnagar international school, anjana sahajwala. she said she had been receiving calls from a man calling himself ashish saxena, a superintendent of police in the cbi's mumbai office.
the caller told sahajwala that he had been ordered to investigate a case of forgery of marksheets and character certificates issued by various schools. he further told the principal that he needed blank marksheets, school leaving certificates and character certificates from her as part of his investigations. he said he was collecting similar samples from over 20 schools in the city. sahajwala did not buy the story and informed the police. when the police checked with cbi mumubai, the caller's claims were found to be false. the principal's phone was tapped and the calls were traced to the accused's shakarpur residence. ashish saxena is not the boy's real name. when questioned, the boy confessed to having made the calls and told the police that he wanted to get the certificates so that he could later sell them. he said he was a school dropout and wanted to sell the certificates to other dropouts so that they could get admission in various open school courses for class x and class xii.
