Daughter, Aides Held For Murdering Woman

New Delhi: A woman and her two associates have been arrested for allegedly murdering her 58-year-old mother in Dwarka's Najafgarh on Friday.
On Aug 16, the daughter placed a distress call to authorities, claiming that her mother was unresponsive and not answering the door. Upon arriving at the scene, police officers found the mother lying unconscious on the bedroom floor, severely battered and bleeding profusely.However, CCTV footage revealed that the daughter, accompanied by her fiance and his friend, had entered the apartment earlier that morning.
Deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) Ankit Kumar Singh said, "On Aug 16, our officers in Najafgarh responded to an emergency call regarding a potentially life-threatening situation. The caller, a woman, reported that her mother was unresponsive and not opening the door to her apartment. Upon gaining entry into the residence, located on the fourth floor of a building in the main market area, we discovered the 58-year-old woman lying unconscious on the bedroom floor. She exhibited visible injuries, including contusions on her forehead, eyes, and wrists. The body displayed signs of rigor mortis, and there was blood around her mouth."
"Our swift investigation following the complaint led us to uncover crucial CCTV footage from the building, which captured three individuals entering the apartment at 2.18am on Aug 16. The individuals were identified as the daughter who made the emergency call, her fiance, and another male companion," the DCP elaborated.
Under intense interrogation by police, the three suspects revealed their plan. The mother owned a shop and a floor, which she had given in her will to her daughter. Additionally, she was anticipating a substantial payment from a person to whom she had lent money.
A senior police officer disclosed that on Aug 15, around 5pm, the daughter, along with her fiance and his friend, visited her mother's residence to persuade her to transfer ownership of the shop and the floor to the daughter and her fiance immediately, citing their impending wedding in Nov. The discussion escalated into a heated argument, which subsequently turned violent. In a fit of rage, they tied the mother up with a dupatta and brutally beat her to death before fleeing the scene.
The suspects then returned to the crime scene at 2.18am to untie the victim and once again departed. The following morning, the daughter faked concern for her mother's well-being, questioning why she was not opening the door, and acted as if she was oblivious to the murder she had committed alongside her fiance and his friend the previous evening, police said
Police have since registered a case, and the three individuals involved — the daughter (32), her fiancé (29), and his friend (26) — have been arrested.
