Case registered after DJB worker alleges assault by AAP MLA
New Delhi: A 59-year-old field assistant from Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has alleged that he was beaten by Model Town MLA and his men in northwest Delhi's Model Town. The MLA has rubbished the allegation.
The DJB staffer told cops that he was deployed at the Kalyan Vihar sewage pumping station on Wednesday. "Around 12.30 pm, the local MLA, Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, arrived with 20-25 men and they got into an argument over sewage water," he stated in his complaint.

"Enraged by my response, Tripathi slapped and kicked me, causing me to fall. Subsequently, the individuals accompanying the MLA also assaulted me. During this incident, the pump operator had come to maintain the logbook but upon seeing me being beaten, he, along with the reliever operator, helped me and I managed to escape," the complainant added.
A case was registered at the Model Town police station.
Tripathi claimed that the charges levelled against him were baseless. "I don't have any personal enmity with anyone. If somebody is not working and is found missing from work, can't I even seek an explanation? I am not going to be demoralised or feel threatened by such things," he said.
