New Delhi: With just two weeks left for the city to vote, senior functionaries of Delhi
BJP, including party president Virendra Sachdeva, have started distributing voter slips at the booth level.
Sachdeva launched the campaign from Vinod Nagar, national general secretary Dushyant Gautam in Dilshad Colony, Delhi BJP's Lok Sabha in-charge Omprakash Dhankhar in Rohini Sector 16, MP Manoj Tiwari in Kadipur and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri in Shrinivaspuri.
“The strongest pillar of any election is the booth. Without strong booths, success in any election is difficult. Therefore, BJP, while working on its strongest policies, is moving forward with great strength in this election,” Sachdeva said.
“Walking on the path laid out by former national president Amit Shah and current national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, we will reach every voter through booth-level heads and make them aware of the 10 years of work by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
Gautam said this election was between corruption and work. “On the one hand, there is an alliance that is in coalition only to hide its corruption, and on the other, there is the Modi govt which has done many development works in the last 10 years that was not done in the last 70 years.”
Dhankhar said that the alliance between Congress and AAP was for advancing the politics of corruption, while the politics of BJP was about taking everyone together and move the country forward.
“The Modi govt has built toilets in every house, given out kitchen gas, provided pure water through taps to every house and ended the worries of expensive treatment for the poor with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. But the Kejriwal govt in Delhi only tells lies and plans conspiracies on how to do corruption in every scheme,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Delhi BJP president Sachdeva, senior party functionary Manjinder Singh Sirsa and MP VK Singh flagged off a bike rally in support of Prime Minister Modi. The rally, which started from the state BJP office, reached the national headquarters via Connaught Place. The rally's slogan was #SikhWithModi.
Sachdeva reminded voters that the Prime Minister had opened the Kartarpur Corridor for the Sikh community, announced Bal Divas after the sons of Guru Gobind Singh on Dec 26, removed taxes on langars, and organised the 350th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Govind Singh. “Not only this, but Modi also wiped the tears of the victims of Sikh riots,” he said.
Sachdeva said that a significant presence of people from the Sikh community in the rally was the evidence that the people of Delhi wanted to see Modi as Prime Minister for the third time.
Sirsa said that with the hashtag ‘SikhWithModi’, the community was moving forward on the streets with the message that they stood with Modi. “Our dream of a developed India will be fulfilled under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,” he added.
General VK Singh said: “The Sikh community is on the roads through this bike rally to convey the message that it's the Modi govt once again. Modi has always been inclined towards the Sikh community.”
