Man strangles wife to death, arrested

RUDRAPUR: Two days after a 29-year-old woman was found hanging, police arrested her husband for strangling her to death and making it look like suicide. Police said there was domestic discord between the couple.
On May 31, Anju Banik was found hanging in her bathroom in Govind Nagar Padagaon village in Sitarganj in Udham Singh Nagar district. Her brother-in-law lodged a police complaint, accusing Banik's husband, Kamal Banik, 39, of murder.SP (crime) Manoj Katyal said, "A team led by Sitarganj SHO BS Brijwal was formed to investigate the matter. The post-mortem bolstered the allegations against the husband."
The accused has been booked under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC.
