5 injured as truck falls into gorge in Pauri Garhwal

Dehradun: In an untoward incident, five people were heavily injured after a truck, they were travelling in, fell into a deep gorge in Dugadda area of Pauri Garhwal district on Sunday early morning. On receiving information, Kotdwar police station informed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The SDRF team, led by the head constable Prem Prakash, immediately reached the spot for relief and rescue operation.
The injured persons were identified as Rahul (32), Himanshu (19), Karan (21), Anshul (18), and Amit (19). All are residents of Haridwar district. "All five were safely rescued from the accident site and were pulled up to the road head using ropes and taken to the hospital in an ambulance," SDRF official told TOI, adding that all five are doing fine.
