Three men die as car hits two-wheeler near Dharmapuri
DHARMAPURI: Three men died when a car hit a two-wheeler they were travelling on near Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district on Sunday evening. The deceased have been identified as Palani, 60, of Vachathi near Pappireddipatti, Paramasivam, 60, of Elanthakottapatti and Kumar, 36, of Vazhapadi. Their relative, Anand of Adimalaiputhur near Pappireddipatti, conducted an ear piercing ceremony for his children at a temple in Manjavadi Kanavai on Sunday. The accident happened near the Kombur police checkpost on the Salem-Harur road when the trio were returning after attending the ceremony. The driver of the car could not control the vehicle, and the vehicle hit the two-wheeler. The three men fell on the road. "All three suffered head injuries and died on the spot," said an officer at the Pappireddipatti police station. The driver of the car, who was yet to be identified, fled the scene leaving his vehicle behind. Police registered a case.
