Nigerian, Ghanaian nationals arrested near Erode
ERODE: The Perundurai police in Erode district arrested two Nigerian men and a Ghanaian woman for staying in the country without valid visas. The Perundurai police said they got a tip-off on Sunday about foreign nationals living in the Veppampalayam area. "Based on the information, we went to the spot and initiated an inquiry," said Perundurai police inspector R Sivakumar.

Police found U Udobi Michael, 43, of Nigeria, A Chibuzo, 44, of Nigeria and O Miracle, 17, of Ghana at a house in South SC Colony. Initial investigations revealed that Udobi Michael and Chibuzo were engaged in the business of exporting clothes from Tirupur to Nigeria. "They entered India using tourist visas and have been staying illegally after their visa expired," the inspector said.Miracle, who was staying in Bengaluru, arrived in Perundurai on Sunday to visit Michael and Chibuzo, who are her friends. She too didn’t have a valid visa.The Nigerian nationals were sent to a special camp for foreign nationals in Tiruvannamalai district while the Ghanaian national was sent to a special camp in Trichy.
