PMK’s bandh against NLCIL expansion in Cuddalore evokes mixed response

Cuddalore: The one-day bandh called by the PMK in Cuddalore district to protest the acquisition of farmland in and around Neyveli for expansion of thermal power plant of NLC India Limited (NLCIL) evoked mixed response as all the government buses plied while more than 50% of private buses were off the roads. Buses did not ply between Cuddalore and Puducherry due to the bandh.The bandh passed off peacefully without any major violence barring a few stray incidents. tnn
