CHENNAI: With the Yercaud bypoll set for a battle between the main Dravidian parties, AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa will undertake an one-day whirlwind campaign tour of the hill station on November 28.
The party has fielded P Saroja, the wife of C Perumal, whose death necessitated the bypoll on December 4.
A party release said the chief minister will address the public in seven places, including Minnampalli, Vellalakundam, Vazhapadi bus terminus, Pelur-Karumanthurai Road, Neermullikuttai, Kootathupatti, Valasaiyur, Ayodhyapattinam and Udayapatti.
1x1 polls

The Left parties have already announced their support to the ruling party for the bypoll, indicating a possible tie-up in the general elections next year.
The Yercaud bypoll is the fourth in the state under the present AIADMK regime, after Trichy (West), Sankarankoil and Pudukkottai. The ruling party emerged victorious in all three.
The DMK nominee for Yercaud by-poll is 36-year-old V Maran. While DMK president M Karunanidhi is not likely to campaign in the by-poll, the itinerary of his son and party treasurer M K Stalin has not been announced yet.
