Fresh case on newspaper for spreading fake news

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu police registered a fresh case on Friday against a daily newspaper from Bihar for publishing fake news about the death of a Bihar man in Pallipalayam near Tiruppur.
They published an article under the heading "Madhubani man in Tamil Nadu murdered". Cops said the article falsely claimed that Shambu Mukhiaya belonging to Madhubani was murdered in Pallipalayam in Tamil Nadu.
A case was registered against Dainik Jagran in Tirupur district cyber crime police station under section 153(B), 505(2), IPC & 66(D) IT Act, 2008.
