Four killed, 15 injured in road accident near Chennai

CHENNAI: Four people died and more than 15 others suffered injuries in an accident involving a private bus, a govt bus and a truck at Pookathurai near Madurantakam in the early hours of Thursday.
The accident happened when the private bus was trying to overtake the truck. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle, and the bus rammed the truck.
Four passengers sitting on the left side of the private bus died on the spot. The deceased are Rajesh, 30, a doctor working in a private hospital in Trichy, his brother Praveen, 24, Dhanalakshmi, 53, of Kodungaiyur in Chennai and Joy Esther, 30.
A state government bus which was behind the private bus rammed it.
The injured people were taken to Chengalpet Government Hospital.
The Padalam police were investigating.
