Punjab medical education and research minister Dr Balbir Singh on Friday announced to regularise the staff of Government Ayurvedic College, Patiala, soon. He also directed the college authorities to complete the whole process in two months.
Directing to ensure the promotion of the college staff as per merit and rules, he said though National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) had asked to shut the Ayurvedic College, the Bhagwant Mann-led government has not only kept it open but will also regularise its staff.
He said the state has decided to revive the institution, besides starting the facilities of a pharmacy and hospital here.
Dr Balbir also visited the Government Medical College and Government Dental College, Patiala to get feedback from staff and students for improvement of the functioning of these three prestigious medical institutions. TNN
