Chandigarh: Haryana chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said on Saturday that the state government is committed and fully prepared to contain the spread of lumpy skin disease in cattle across Haryana. Kaushal directed the concerned officers to ensure 100% vaccination of cattle within next seven days across the state. He informed that at present, 3 lakh doses of vaccination are available in the state, which will be used in 2 days. Apart from this, 5 lakh more doses will be available in the coming week. The chief secretary today presided over an important meeting with the deputy commissioners of the state through video conferencing regarding containing the spread of lumpy skin disease in the state. “All arrangements have been made for its prevention. First, vaccination will be done as per the ring-vaccination concept in the vicinity of the place from where the infected animal is reported and a 3 ml dose will be applied to the infected animals. Apart from this, a dosage of 1 ml will be applied to the animals at other villages or areas,” said an official. Kaushal said that the data of affected animals should be updated every day. Apart from this, the data of the animals that are dead due to Lumpy Skin Disease should also be updated immediately. The information about availability of jabs should also be updated daily,” he added.
