UT MC organises cyclothon to promote cleanliness

Chandigarh: A cyclothon was held at Sector 17 plaza here Tuesday. The initiative, taken by the UT MC and Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM), is part of the ongoing ‘Swachhotsav' and Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada. It was flagged off by mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla. She was joined by CBM president Sanjiv Chadha and office-bearers, local shopkeepers, civic officials, safaimitras, and hundreds of enthusiastic citizens who pedalled in support of a garbage-free city. The zero waste event aimed at raising awareness about market cleanliness and encouraging active participation from both traders and residents in maintaining hygiene.
