Sukhu okays 20% pay incentive for docs, 230 new staff approved

Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that the Himachal Pradesh govt will soon introduce an incentive scheme offering a 20% financial bonus to doctors serving in medical colleges and health institutions statewide. Chairing a medical education department meeting in Shimla, Sukhu confirmed that the policy will comprehensively cover professors, associate professors, and assistant professors.To strengthen the state's healthcare delivery and medical education, the govt will soon recruit 110 assistant professors and 120 paramedical staff across various medical colleges. The CM also directed officials to identify suitable land to explore the construction of a new, dedicated mother and child hospital within the IGMC Shimla campus.The state is executing a massive Rs 3,000-crore investment plan to modernise public hospitals and medical colleges with advanced machinery and equipment.
