‘Staged hearing’ on stubble fires at Chandigarh’s Open Hand

Chandigarh: At a time when pollution caused by stubble burning has become a concern, Khoj International Artists’ Association and theatre director Zuleikha Chaudhari held a “staged hearing” on the issue at Open Hand Monument in Chandigarh on Sunday. Retired judges, lawyers, and artists participated. A fictional case, filed by an association and Chaudhari, indicted the Centre, stakeholders of states, and a fictitious farmers’ union for their inability to stop stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.TNN
