PSPCL JE held taking bribe

Chandigarh: The Punjab vigilance bureau (VB) on Monday arrested a junior engineer (JE) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) Kirpa Singh posted at Aliwal power station in Gurdaspur district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The accused JE was arrested on the complaint of Sukhjeet Singh of Dhadiala village in Gurdaspur district.
The complainant had alleged that the JE had demanded Rs 20,000 as a bribe to install a new transformer. After preliminary investigation, a VB team of Amritsar range laid a trap and arrested the JE accepting Rs 10,000 as first instalment of the bribe from the complainant.
