Paddy procurement arrangements reviewed in Punjab

chandigarh: in view of the ensuing paddy procurement, punjab food and supplies department would allot various mandis to the concerned procurement agencies by august 15. reviewing the paddy procurement arrangements at a high-level meeting on thursday, punjab food and supplies minister, madan mohan mittal said that all the arrangements with regard to the paddy procurement had been finalised and a bumper paddy crop was expected this time.detailed instructions had already been issued to the deputy commissioners and sub-divisional magistrates to identify the sites to store paddy. mittal said that meeting of rice millers were also being convened at divisional level for the smooth procurement of paddy, an official release said.
