Chandigarh: The
Punjab and
Haryana High Court Bar Association (HCBA) on Friday announced its decision to keep its boycott of the court of Justice Anil Kshetarpal in abeyance till September.
“The bar association has decided to keep the resolution dated May 26 in abeyance till September 2023 and to withdraw the boycott of the court of Justice
Anil Kshetarpal for the time being, keeping in view the fact that he has assured the members of the bar that he will not misbehave with them,” according to the release issued by GBS Dhillon, the HCBA president.
In its resolution passed on May 26, the HCBA decided to boycott Justice Kshetarpal’s court and accused him of misbehaviour with a lawyer during the court proceedings. The bar also demanded that Justice Kshetarpal be transferred from the HC.
A decision was taken by the HCBA executive committee in a meeting convened to discuss a complaint submitted by advocate Herbans
Lal Sharma to the bar body against Justice Kshetarpal regarding his “misbehaviour” in the courtroom.
