KHANNA: The accused were identified as Amritpal Singh of Chahal; Gursewak Singh and Kuljeet Singh of Bhaddi Panech, both in Patiala; Pawan Kumar of Amloh; and
Ravinder Singh of Bhurthala in Sangrur.
Police has recovered two Maruti cars, two Pulsar motorcycles, 235 g psychotropic powder, .315 bore pistol, three live cartridges, sharp-edged weapons, two air conditioners, two LCD TVs, six mobile phones and gold earrings.
SP (investigations) Khanna, Satnam Singh Bains said a police party led by inspector Darshan Singh got information about the accused who were allegedly planning some big crime at a vacant plot at Ram Rajya colony. He added that the police party reached the spot and arrested the accused.
Police officials said during investigation the accused told cops that they have committed 24 incidents in Mandi Gobind garh to Manji Sahib Gurdwara. They added that the accused would sell drugs during the day and would do recce as well.
Cops said that the accused were produced in a local court which sent them to two-day police remand. They added that they expect more disclosures from the accused during interrogations.
