CHANDIGARH: Four days after the firing incident outside a discotheque in Sector 8, police have failed to nab any of the assailants despite identifying two of the suspects Kamal and Lakhwinder Singh of Ferozpur.
Kamal who is considered to be the guy who fired nine bullets in a fit of rage after he was thrashed by the bouncers on May 31. He is a resident of Makhu town, and Lakhwinder is from Sainwala village in Ferozepur.
As two teams of Chandigarh police failed to find any clue about two of them in Ferozepur, cops have reportedly shifted their focus to Ludhiana claiming indications of strong presence of assailants were received in Ludhiana.
Police sources said the identity of two other assailants is yet to be established. A team was already camping in Ludhiana for the last 48 hours. Meanwhile, the local police have kept its counterparts, Ferozepur police, in dark and have not reportedly shared any information with them.
Sources in Ferozepur police said: "They were not communicated by Chandigarh police about any of criminal wanted in a shooting incident in Chandigarh. We are making efforts on our own."
Four youths wreaked havoc when they were forcefully removed from the disco making demands of liquor way past the last order. Due to this, one of them opened fired at disco staff injuring three persons, including a girl.
Those injured were identified as Akashdeep Singh, a resident of Nayagaon, Shilpa Rai of Delhi, and Deep Kumar, who is disco staffer. Accused had arrived at the disco in a Zen car, which was later found registered on the name of a Gurugaon resident. A case was registered at Sector 3 police station.
