3 booked for illegal mining in Pkl
Panchkula: Three persons were booked under the Mining Act after the mining department team found fresh signs of sand and gravel mining on half acre land in Raipur Rani. Mining inspector Atul Gathaniya said that his office received a complaint of illegal mining at Raihana village in Raipur Rani. Acting on the information, he along with his team, including mining guards Des Raj and Abhimanyu went for inspection and found fresh signs of mining of sand and gravel.

No machinery was found at the time of inspection. On inquiries, area residents said that three persons identified as Khan Mohammad alias Khanu, a resident of Raihana village, Channi alias Gurcharan, a resident of Fatehpur village, Ambala and Krishan Rana, a resident of Sarakpu village used JCB machines and tipper trucks to do illegal mining on the land. Officials prepared a detailed report and filed a written complaint with the police. A case was registered under sections 379 (punishment for theft) and 21 (1) of the Mining Act at Raipur Rani police station. tnn
