1 quintal of ganja seized, Bihar man held

Balangir: Police on Monday seized one quintal of ganja from a truck at Bhagirathi Chowk here and arrested one person from Bihar. The accused was identified as Birendra Singh (53) of Siwan district in Bihar.
The police said a West Bengal-bound truck laden with ganja in bags was intercepted in the early hours. During a search, nearly one quintal of marijuana packed in bags was recovered in the presence of magistrate.They said three more persons, including the driver of the vehicle, fled from the spot.
“We arrested one accused. The truck was transporting the contraband to West Bengal. Further investigation is on,” said Rishikesh Khilari, Balangir SP.
