Scolded by mom, teen boy dies by suicide in Bhopal's Hanumanganj

Preliminary investigations suggest that Dev took this extreme step after his mother scolded him for being on a neighbor's terrace. Police found no suicide note and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

BHOPAL: A 14-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide at his home in Silawatpura, Hanumanganj area on Monday afternoon. Though no suicide note was recovered, police investigating the case said that preliminary investigation suggests that he took the extreme step after being scolded by his mother for going on a neighbour's terrace.According to SI S L Verma, deceased Dev Yadav was a student of class 10. His father Balkishan Yadav runs a paan kiosk. The kid's uncle, Ram Prasad Yadav, informed police that Dev went into a room around 2:30pm. Later, the family members found him hanging and rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police sent the body for post-mortem.During a search of the room, no suicide note was found. Upon questioning, the family told police that earlier in the day, Dev climbed onto a neighbour's terrace, for which his mother had scolded him. It is suspected that he became upset over the scolding and took the drastic step. Hanumanganj police registered a case and are continuing the investigation.
