Police van bringing inmates hits truck in Satna, 6 cops hurt

Bhopal: A police van bringing inmates to Jabalpur and Narsinghpur from Satna central jail rammed into a truck in Satna on Monday afternoon.
A total of six police personnel including an assistant sub-inspector of police, a head constable and three constables and the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries. The head constable and driver sustained severe injuries and were referred to Satna district hospital from Maihar and then referred to Sanjay Gandhi hospital in Rewa for treatment.
The accident took place on Bela-Katni road under Amdara police station of the district.Police van was transporting two inmates, one had to be transferred to Narsinghpur jail while the other inmate was to be produced before MP high court in a case, said police.
The two critically injured, including head constable Manoj Singh Parihar and driver of the vehicle, Rajesh Kumar, both were referred to Rewa from Satna district hospital in the night, said police. A case has been registered and investigations are on, said police.
