He had justified his attack saying: "First avedan, then nivedan, and then de dana-dan. That is our line of action."Vivek Agrawal, vice-president of BJYM, was quick to follow the 'line'.
"When Akash ji picked up the bat, he did so for the welfare of the poor. I have also started doing the same these days," said Vivek Agrawal, V-P of BJYM.Agrawal, whose mother is a BJP corporator, said. "This is my chetavni (warning) and also nivedan (request) to officials. "If corruption continues in Damoh municipality, I won't hesitate to raise the bat like Akash Vijayvargiya. I will make officers run and I'd be running behind him with a bat in my hand," he warned.
Calling himself his "mother's representative", he said: "From now on, I will visit the municipality office with a bat in one hand and papers of the poor in the other. When I place my bat on the table of an employee, they work very fast." He alleges corruption in clearing PM Awas Yojana instalments.
After the Akash episode in Indore, Vivek has been visiting the municipality with a cricket bat resting menacingly on his shoulder. When pointed out that the Damoh municipality, like the Indore corporation, is run buy BJP, he refused to make any comment.
Arshad Khan, an officer in the municipality, said, "For the past two days, Vivek has been visiting the office with a bat. He has not yet done anything, but people are scared. It looks unusual when he enters the office carrying a bat on his shoulder." Anunay Shrivastava, a district Congress leader, said, "The municipality is run by BJP. So, when Vivek talks about corruption, he is referring to corruption with his own party."
