Another MBA student arrested for cheque fraud

Another MBA student has been arrested for fraud. He obtained a professor’s cheque book and used it to purchase household goods and other expensive items from different stores in the state capital. The arrest was made on Monday.

BHOPAL: Another MBA student has been arrested for fraud. He obtained a professor’s cheque book and used it to purchase household goods and other expensive items from different stores in the state capital. The arrest was made on Monday.
On March 8, two MBA students of a private college, Vikram Shrivastava and Rajnikant residents of Gwalior and Seoni were arrested.

They lived in Shalimar Enclave in Arera Colony. During interrogation, they revealed name of their accomplice after which police nabbed Vikrant Yadav, 23, a native of Seoni, who is studying with the two accused under arrest.
Accused students conned shopkeepers by making purchases through fake cheques. They are wanted in five cases registered against them at Ayodhya Nagar, Piplani, TT Nagar, MP Nagar and Chhola Mandir police stations.
Accused students lived at Rachna Nagar in the past. A professor, Dinesh Chouhan, who also lived at Rachna Nagar but he later changed his accommodation. However, his bank cheque book was delivered on his old address at Rachna Nagar which was collected by the accused. Soon after, accused shifted their address to Arera Colony. They then hatched a plan for shopping using the cheque leaves.
The accused would move in a car, visit a shop and convince shopkeeper to deliver goods to their office at Rachna Nagar, promising payment through cheque. After receiving goods at Rachna Nagar, accused would load the stuff in another auto and take it to Shalimar Enclave, police said, adding the cheques issued by them bounced later. Vikrant Yadav was entrusted with the job of taking the goods from Rachna Nagar to Arera Colony.
Case was solved by cops at Piplani police station, but it has now been handed over to MP Nagar police station as the accused are on police remand for further investigation.
