BHOPAL: A speeding, gravel-laden dumper, ran over two bike-borne minor cousins in Parwalia locality on Monday morning.
The boys were rushed to Hamidia hospital where one was declared brought dead and the other died while undergoing treatment.
Parwalia police registered a case against the driver and seized the dumper.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Vishal
Meena, 14, son of Vishram Meena, a resident of Puri Chhindwara village in Parwalia, and his cousin Aditya Meena, 12, son of Bharat Singh Meena, a resident of Kaseri village in Rajgarh district.
Aditya was the son of Vishal's aunt and was in Bhopal to attend a function.
Investigation officer, SI Vinod Gurjar, said, around 10:30 pm, Vishal and Aditya were out on a ride on a bike. Vishal was driving.
When they reached near Mugaliya Haat Jod, a dumper speeding from the opposite side rammed into them. Both the boys sustained severe injuries and locals rushed to help them.
SI Gurjar said that both the deceased boys' fathers are farmers. Vishal was the youngest among three siblings and was a student of class 9 while Aditya was the second eldest among three siblings and was a student of class 8.
