Bengaluru: Trends in association with The Times of India and Vijaya Karnataka organised Karnataka’s biggest Rangoli contest to reward the people of the state on the occasion of Ugadi.
The contest, which was open for paper and on-ground rangoli, saw over 5,000 entries from around 800 locations. Ganesha Shastri and Kiran R from
Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath selected top three winners from each category.
TV stars Vaishanvi Gowda and
Ranjani Raghavan, who encouraged people to draw the rangoli and share their picture along with it also arrived at the Trends store in Mantri Mall to give away the prizes.
The top three winners in each category took away cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively, along with trophies and certificates. The winners of the paper rangoli contest are: Rajeshwari from Mysuru (1st prize); Shailaja Belvai from Hebri (2nd prize) and Ramitha from Bengaluru (3rd prize).
Winners of on-ground rangoli contest are: Ganga Kotresh from Hubballi (1st prize); Susheela from Bengaluru (2nd prize) and Drushya from Arsikere (3rd prize).
