Wildfire spreads in Madikeri forests

madikeri: the wildfire in the green forests around madikeri and kushalnagar has been spreading unabated. the welcome hill at madikeri caught fire first. the public and police rushed to the spot, only to watch a handful of helpless fire brigade personnel trying to bring the fire under control. tempers ran high as the fire brigade personnel gave excuse of shortage of staff and vehicle to carry out their duty.meanwhile, aanekad reserve forest range near kushalnagar has also caught fire, posing danger to wildlife.
