Stinking toilet riles minister on surprise visit

BENGALURU: Labour minister Venkataramanappa got irritated by the stinking gents toilet and missing employees during his maiden and surprise visit to Karmika Bhavan (labour secretariat) on Wednesday.
After coming out of the gents toilet at Karmika Bhavan on Bannerghatta Road, the irked minister stopped short of directing a senior woman officer of the labour department to enter the toilet to do a reality check.“You go inside and seethe patheticcondition of the toilet,” he reportedly said while the officer remained speechless.
Earlier, the minister faced an embarassing momentwhen departmentstaffers failed to recognise him. He found many employees missing from office and sought attendance status for Saturday. He also ordered suspension of a labour inspector who had stepped out of office without informing his seniors.
