Rain, rain, don't go away
BANGALORE: Just when you thought the heat was getting unbearable, there was unexpected respite in the form of a brief shower on Friday evening. However, the meteorological department reported only `traces' of rainfall, and said it is a normal feature at this time of the year. The good news is that such brief spells of rain are expected over the next couple of days.

"Showers in April/May are common and occur especially in the evening or night. This might continue for a few more days. After that, the weather might clear and the temperature may soar again," department director A Muthuchamy said. However, it remains to be seen whether the evening respite will bring down daytime temperature. There were showers elsewhere in the state too. Tumkur received 1.5 mm rain, Mutuchamy added.
