"Rainfall of less than 3 cm was reported in many places," department director A Muthuchami said.
The rainfall, which is normal during this time of year, is due to upper air cyclonic circulation over the South-East Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast. "South-Westerly winds prevail over this region. We can expect thunderstorms and cloudy conditions in the evening and night from Wednesday. This might continue for two or three days," he said.
