Plagiarism: panel to probe charges

BANGALORE: The Bangalore University syndicate meeting on Tuesday decided to set up a committee of experts to probe allegations of plagiarism against assistant professor B.C. Mylarappa.
The latter has been accused of copying his research thesis from books of academicians. The syndicate meeting also examined the report, submitted by an expert committee which probed allegations whether Mylarappa guided his research student, Venkataramanappa, also to copy from his thesis.
It decided to seek an explanation from both, submit a report to the syndicate and academic council before deciding the future course of action.However, no deadline has been set for completing the process.
