BENGALURU: Soon,
Karnataka will have a mini Tirupathi, a replica of Tirupathi Tirumala temple in Ramanagara disrict.
The state government on Friday decided to allot 15 acres of land in Ramanagar district to Tirupathi Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) Trust, which will built the Venkateshwara temple same as in Tirupathi along with a dining and community halls.
“It was a long pending proposal and representatives of TTD trust have been requesting the state government for land,” said an officer in the chief minister’s office.
Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy cleared the proposal on Friday during his meeting with the endowment department officials.
The trust is building this temple under its Divya Kshetra programme which seeks to set up Venkateshwara temple in different parts of the country. Currently, there is one temple in Maharashtra.
In the meeting, Kumaraswamy also approved a proposal to build a new choultry in Tirupathi at a cost of Rs 26 crore. The new choultry will come at the premises of existing one, a source said.
Muzrai minister PT Parameshwara Naik, PWD minister HD Revanna were present.
