BENGALURU: Chief minister Siddramaiah will launch 18 mobile
Indira Canteens in the city on January 26 at a function at Vidhana Soudha premises.
The chief minister along with other ministers and government officials will also have lunch at the mobile canteens.
The canteens were planned to cater to the 24 wards of the capital city. However, six of the canteen vehicles are still under preparation.
Hence, the government has decided to launch only 18 of them.
The government has purchased 24 Force Tempo Traveler vehicle at the cost of Rs 8.5 lakh each.
BBMP special commissioner Manoj Raj said that the vehicles will be fitted with GPS system to track their location.
Features of mobile canteens4 CCTV cameras will be installed in every mobile canteen
The vehicles will be fitted with 40 power lights
Two solar panels will be installed on the roof of the vehicle
The food will be distributed through token system
20 people can eat at a time at mobile canteen
