BANGALORE: Karnataka government has agreed in principle to enhance the monthly honorarium of anganwadi workers and anganwadi assistants by Rs 500 and Rs 200, minister for women and child development C C Patil said on Monday.
The date of payment of revised honorarium will be decided by chief minister
B S Yeddyurappa in consultation with the finance department, he said.
At present, anganwadi workers get Rs 2,500 honorarium and assistants Rs 1,250. They will also get 15-day summer vacation from this year, he said.
The government has asked the Karnataka State Public Service Commission to take up recruitment to fill 17 child development officers posts and 331 supervisor vacancies, Patil said.
