Heavy rain likely in coastal Karnataka

BANGALORE: Coastal Karnataka and parts of the Western Ghats will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours. The meteorological department issued a warning on Wednesday, alerting people that there'll be heavy rainfall in these areas, as much as 15 cms in some parts.
"The pressure gradient is increasing across the west coast so we can expect very heavy rainfall.The wind speed could also be very high. Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Madikeri, Hassan, Shimoga, Mandya and other surrounding areas will be affected," said A Muthuchami, met office director.
