BENGALURU: A 37-year-old man died after a truck ploughed into a few vehicles, including his bike, on Kalyan Nagar flyover near Banaswadi on Friday midnight. The truck driver was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
S Nemaraj from Yelahanka and a private company employee had got married six months ago and was on the way to his in-laws’ house in Kasturinagar when the accident took place at 12.45am.
The truck driver,
Chandrashekar of Ramamurthynagar, 28, is in judicial custody. “The truck first rammed into a cab and then Nemaraj’s bike. Nemaraj dashed into another truck moving ahead. That truck rammed into a mini-goods vehicle which crashed into three other cars,” police said. Two men in the cab—Rajesh and Mutturaj—sustained injuries.
The occupants of other vehicles escaped unhurt but all the vehicles were damaged.
