An Anti-National Corridor forming in Karnataka, says BJP
BENGALURU: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said there is an Anti-National Corridor which is forming in Karnataka, and that there needs to be a comprehensive investigation into the cases of murders which have occurred along these belts by activists of the Popular Front of India (PFI)or the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
In a high voltage debate over the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker Raju which happened on March 19, in Mysuru, which took a communal turn last week, MLC and BJP spokesperson Ashwath Narayan said there is an anti-national corridor forming between Mysuru, Bhatkal, Kodagu, Mangaluru and then entering Kerala.

"What we call the red corridor or the naxal infested areas which extend between West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh entering into Tamil Nadu, similarly we are seeing the construction of an anti-national corridor in Karnataka. The series of murders of RSS and Hindu activists, coupled with several terror links, is pointing in this direction," said Ashwath Narayan.
Earlier, giving a detailed description of the RSS activist murder in Kyathmaranhalli, BJP MLA G Madhusudhan attacked the State Government by stating the police have become docile and helpless.
"The situation in Nazarbad is tense and scary. The PFI is using extortion and other illegal activities to feed their activities of dividing the people on communal lines and creating a vote bank for their anti-national philosophy," he said.
He said even the Congress in Mysuru was facing the heat from the SDPI, wherein their MLA Tanveer Sait scrapped through to win the N R Mohalla seat despite he and his father Aziz Seth having their hold on the constituency for decades.

"It is a warning to the government, to act against such anti-national forces and not withdraw cases which were lodged against them. While we admit that we also withdrew cases against organisations and people during our tenure, the difference is we withdrew cases against people who shouted 'Bharath Mata ki Jai'and not against those who scream "Pakistan Zindabad" which was done by Congress," said Madhusudhan, taking an indirect dig at the ruling government.
BJP opposition leader K S Eshwarappa said the government must take serious note of the issue, and asked the Home Minister to consider the State position on the issue. "When the police have already seized the CCTV footage of the attack, and also know the organisations behind the murder, why is the State dragging its feet? Why are they not arresting the people? There have been series of murders, Kodagu (Kuttappa) to Moodabidri (Prashant Poojary) and Mysuru (Raju), and the government appears to be inactive and is giving an impression that they are protecting those who are behind them," he said.
Home Minister G Parameshwara is scheduled to respond to the BJP queries on Tuesday.
