The intensity of the blast was so severe that the shed has been blown to pieces, police said.
Dodda Venkataramanappa had stored a large quantity of gun powder and other explosives required to manufacture the gelatin sticks in the shed on Wednesday night.
Police are yet to ascertain the cause of the blast and are awaiting a report from the forensic experts who visited the spot on Thursday afternoon.
"We have booked Dodda Venkataramanappa for storing explosives illegally and causing the death of four persons. He has fled his village, Sadahalli. We are on the lookout for him," the Bangalore Rural SP said. The SP ruled out the hand of Naxalites in the blast as they use sophisticated explosives.
