Two Bangladeshi nationals deported after completing jail term in Jalna
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The special branch of the Jalna district police on Saturday deported 2 Bangladeshi nationals after they completed their one-year jail term for illegally entering India and staying without valid travel documents.The deported men were identified as Imdar Husein Mohammad Uli Ahemad alias Sipon (26) and Humayun Kabir Mohammad Uli Ahemad (40). "Investigations revealed that the duo illegally entered Indian territory and resided within the limits of Paradh police station in Jalna without possessing passports, visas or any other authorisation required under Indian law," Jalna superintendent of police Ajaykumar Bansal said.Based on specific inputs, the Jalna police conducted verification and subsequently registered an offence at Paradh police station on Dec 27, 2024. "The accused were booked under provisions of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950, and the Foreigners Act, 1946, along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for illegal entry, unauthorised stay, and concealment of identity. After completion of the probe, police filed a chargesheet before the competent court," additional SP Ayush Nopany said.
The court convicted them and sentenced them to one-year rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing a fine of Rs2,500 on each of the convicts. After serving the full sentence, the district police initiated the deportation process in accordance with statutory provisions."The deportation was carried out strictly as per procedure. After the completion of the sentence awarded by the court, instructions were issued to initiate deportation under the Foreigners Act, 1946. Necessary correspondence was undertaken through the Union govt with the Bangladesh High Commission to facilitate their return," Bansal said.The final handover was coordinated with central forces on Sunday. "With the assistance of the 119th Battalion of the Border Security Force, both Bangladeshi nationals were handed over at Baishnabnagar, under Vaishnabnagar police station in Malda district of West Bengal," Nopany said.
